Bambu Lab H2D

Print guide for MakerMint models

Everything between exporting a .3mf in the Studio and a finished multicolour print on your H2D with the AMS.

AMS slot mapping

The Studio writes each part's colour into the .3mf as a base material, so Bambu Studio lands them in the same order you set here.

1Main body colour

Load the colour that covers the most surface — usually PLA Basic.

2Accent / second colour

Text, logos and raised details map here by default in the Studio.

3Highlight colour

Great for small badges, eyes, or a rim stripe on vases.

4Support / base colour

Use a contrasting or support-interface filament so it peels clean.

Slicing settings that work
Printer profile
Bambu Lab H2D with the 0.4 mm nozzle unless you exported thin-wall vase mode.
Layer height
0.20 mm for general parts, 0.12 mm for lithophanes and photo keychains.
Walls / top / bottom
3 walls, 4 top, 3 bottom. Vase-mode exports override this automatically.
Infill
15% gyroid for decor, 30% grid for functional parts like hooks and holders.
Flush volumes
Raise flush volume to ~450 mm³ when jumping between dark and light filaments.
Prime tower
Leave it on for anything using two or more AMS slots — it keeps colours clean.
Supports
Tree (auto) with a support-interface gap of 0.20 mm for organic vase shapes.
Plate
Textured PEI for PLA/PETG matte finishes; smooth PEI for glossy lithophane fronts.
.3mf checklist before you print
  1. 1The .3mf opens in Bambu Studio via File → Import → Import 3MF without a repair prompt.
  2. 2Every part shows a colour swatch that matches the AMS slot you assigned in the Studio.
  3. 3The AMS filament loaded in each slot matches the slot colour and material type.
  4. 4Model sits fully inside the build plate outline with no red out-of-bounds warning.
  5. 5Wall thickness is at least 0.8 mm anywhere the model is thin (check lithophanes).
  6. 6Prime tower is enabled and placed clear of the model for multicolour prints.
  7. 7Nozzle and bed temps match the material you picked when exporting (PLA 220 °C / 55 °C).
  8. 8Sliced preview shows expected filament changes — not hundreds of tiny swaps.
  9. 9Estimated filament use is under what's on each spool.
  10. 10Send to printer with the AMS mapping confirmed on the printer screen before starting.
